Existing methods of initiation rely upon explosive primer systems which are often unreliable and inconvenient to use. The Surefire Exploder generates a discharge right inside the shock tube, initiating with great reliability.

When in use, the open end of the shock tube lead-in line is inserted into the initiation tip of the unit with the central electrode inserted into the shock tube.

Prepare to Fire

 

Firmly depress the HOLD “FIRE” button (black button)

“READY TO FIRE” Red LED indicator will illuminate.

Release “FIRE” button when ready to initiate.

Note: ONLY attach Shocktube to Surefire when ready or safe to fire.

SUREfire Exploder Temperature Testing:

 

* Shock Tube test with 48°c 120°f and -40°c -40°f Surefire units *

The Surefire Exploder’s performance surpassed the requested MIL-STD-810G 501.5 High Temperature and 502.5 Low Temperature +43C (109.4°F) and -32C (26.6°F).

No performance issues were found at low temperature -40°C -40°F, with 15-hour soak times or the high temperature 48°C 120°F at 17-hour soak times. The Exploder charged and fired the shock tube as designed (image above).
